THANK YOU 2016

Happy New Year everyone! If you’re reading this post you would’ve noticed that our website has changed. Surprise! After a tonne of research and inspiration gathering we have made it and are so proud of this new design. We hope you like it as much as we do! : ) Well it’s that time of year again, we evaluate the past year and look forward to what the new year has to offer. Are you ready? It’s going to be a big one, so here we go…

2016: What a year it’s been. A year with lots of personal changes, big sacrifices, great achievements and life experiences. The past year has taught me many things and I would like to share a few things that I learned:

1.) “You don’t take shortcuts… and success doesn’t count unless you earn it fair and square.”  I always aim to improve and be a better person. We all learn, every day and we never stop until we die. We live in a world where everything seems to have to be perfect. I believe perfection is an illusion and it can’t be achieved. What can however be achieved is knowledge and experience and that will make you successful. And the two things that help in achieving success, which brought me closer to my goal this year, was patience and kindness. It is a hard mountain to climb and it is exhausting and people will always try to get the biggest piece of cake. But in the long run it is worth it and makes you a better person. I am proud to have taken a step further in achieving this and believe through it I became a better photographer.

2.) I learned to let go of negativity. If it is negative people (personal and in business), or negative thoughts. If someone has a problem with me or if it’s me that has an issue, then we can either work it out (we’re all adults here) or our paths simply go in different directions. Family or no family, there are no exceptions. If we are worried about a situation or make our heads spin – whatever happens, happens. We can’t change the past and cannot see the future. But we can live in the present trying to do our best. Beneath it all we’re not so different.

3.) I learned that sometimes life gives you lemons and truthfully they’re not all that bad. Add some Tequila or make French macaroons out of them. Both good options.

4.) And most of all I learned that nothing is forever, no pain or troubles. Eventually it will pass. Remember you are your own hero. No knight in shining armour will come and rescue you and if you don’t change a situation that you’re unhappy with, no one will. You cannot fall from this earth and honestly most of us live in safe wealthy countries and we have all we need. Count the things you have and learn to love them. Remember you cannot fill a hole that’s been filled already.

2016 was a year of great adventure for Steven and myself. We travelled to Ireland and again to the country where our love lives – Italy, Rome to be precise. We would like to thank every single person who played a part in our lives (no matter how big – you are all important). We thank you for putting your trust in us and letting us be a part of your life’s journey!

For 2017 I hope to continue to climb that mountain and I look forward to meeting new people, their stories and with it letting my story grow. I hope everyone has a happy and healthy new year!
