A relaxed garden wedding with lots of sunshine. That’s exactly what we were striving for since talking about getting married. After lots of research and budget calculations, we came across a beautiful little rustic villa in the heart of Italy. The villa is owned and being managed by a traditional Italian family and is located in beautiful Tuscany. Time flew by and after countless emails, Skype sessions and phone calls the day finally came and on June 6th 2015 our flight departed. We were (together with two other friends who kept us company on the plane) the last ones to arrive at the villa. Apart from our Australian family & friends, everyone else made their way to Italy by car. The next day was a relaxing sleep-in Sunday. Nicole and her girls went out for a bridal lunch and I went with the boys for a beer or coffee and ended up at the local ice cream parlor. We decided against a crazy bachelorette/bachelor party and preferred our last moments as singles this way. When we both returned we started with the first wedding preparations. Nicole made all the floral arrangements and I did my part by jumping into the pool. The day we had waited for was finally here. Although the rain delayed our ceremony for a bit, the day could not have been more beautiful. It was rustic, relaxing and just wonderful. We were surrounded by our closest friends and family who came all this way just for us and celebrated until early morning. As our photographer disappointed us right before the wedding we decided to take the following photos ourselves. A project that turned our brilliantly.
“I don’t know if life is greater than death, but love is more than either.”
Our favourite moment from the wedding:
Steven: The moment I saw you in your wedding dress for the first time.
Nicole: When my dad walked me down the aisle and I saw your smile.
Thanks a million to the fantastic team from Gattotigre Wedding Videography for this magnificent video. It is a true treasure and will be kept forever!
